Supporting Families in Religious Life
Provide help to most needy families of religious to as far as possible remove any debilitating condition of poverty; prevent continuation or increase of poverty.
In spirit of compassion, service and love to neighbour, Valentine Tela Foundation (VTF) has identified a group of people whose contribution to society is invaluably immense. These are the parents or surviving family heads of men and women who joined religious life or God’s mission in perpetuity.
There are among these parents or surviving family heads who may have fallen behind in debilitating state or condition of poverty and hence suffer very pressing social and economic needs. VTF is interested in responding to some of these needs in Kenya and beyond and working towards their reduction or elimination.
The reasoning within VTF is that when the living state and condition of a parent or head of a family from where a religious man or woman originated is commendable, such a religious would have peace. Further, the quality of his or her attention to requirements of vocation and hence for the glory of God is likely to improve.
VTF is a twin organization with Dear Sister Tela Book Series and Mission (STSM). While VTF addresses social and economic needs at family level, STSM addresses social and religious aspects of a vocation.
